An American Ma(u)l

BRAVA! Theater Center

Robert O'Hara's scathing and hilarious political satire about the creeping return of enslavement in the 21st Century.

This is what SF/Arts curator Jean Schiffman had to say about An American Ma(u)l :

Playwright Robert O’Hara’s wicked political satire envisions an alt-America in which the newly elected president (Dr. Eli Whitney the Fifth!), to save a faltering economy, comes up with a plan that involves reinstatingslavery. Among the characters are a black girl in love with two white brothers (named Smith and Wesson). Chaos ensues. Directed by Edris Cooper-Anifowoshe.
