Francesco Piemontesi

San Francisco Performances

Meticulous Swiss firebrand Francesco Piemontesi was a protégé of legendary pianists Murray Perahia and Alfred Brendel, whom he credits with teaching him to "love the detail of things." Piemontesi brings a program of Bach, Debussy and Rachmaninoff for his San Francisco debut.

This is what SF/Arts curator Jesse Hamlin had to say about Francesco Piemontesi :

Praised for the dash and lyricism of his playing, Swiss pianist Francesco Piemontesi, a protégé of Alfred Brendel, makes his San Francisco debut, playing a half dozen pieces by Bach, Debussy’s “Images,” Book 2, and Rachmaninoff’s Piano Sonata No.2 in B-flat minor.
