Gerald Clayton Trio

Possessing an exquisite touch, astonishing technique, and a trio sound that somehow combines the dynamic finesse of Ahmad Jamal with the hurtling swing of Oscar Peterson, Gerald Clayton ranks among the very best pianists of his generation.

This is what SF/Arts curator Jack Hirsch has to say about Gerald Clayton Trio :

Gerland Clayton, Grammy-nominated pianist and composer, has jazz in his DNA. Son of prominent Los Angeles bassist/arranger John Clayton and nephew of alto saxophonist Jeff Clayton, Gerland has created an intricate and complex web of carefully curated sounds. In this interactive, hour-long matinee, he shares parts of his superb repertoire from “Tributary Tales.” Presented by SFJazz.
