COAL+ICE is a documentary photography and video exhibition, featuring the work of over 30 photographers from around the world. COAL+ICE visually narrates the trajectory of climate change from the dirty coal mines deep within the Earth to the vanishing glaciers of the Greater Himalaya. The exhibition culminates in global consequences and an exploration of visionary solutions. Look for events associated with the exhibition. Visit the website for an updated schedule of events.

This is what SF/Arts curator Jean Schiffman had to say about COAL + ICE :

For this immersive photography exhibit curators Jeroen de Vries and Susan Meiselas chose works that carry an urgent message. The photographs, projections and videos trace a connected journey over the past century, from coal mining in China to melting icecaps in the Arctic. The images of coal miners, and of devastated landscapes, provide clear evidence of the dangers of environmental devastation to the planet and to humanity. Check website for accompanying events.
