A disillusioned Trump voter travels back in time to 1912, when her town was a hotbed of the American Socialist party, and realizes that she may have more in common with those blue-state progressives than she previously thought.
Independence Day always marks the opening of the San Francisco Mime Troupe’s latest original musical spoof. This year—the Troupe’s 59th!—a disillusioned Trump voter (played by Lisa Hori-Garca) is whisked to 1912, when her hometown was a socialist stronghold. What she discovers makes her see our current mess from a new perspective. Script by Rotimi Agbabiaka with former Troupe resident playwright Joan Holden. Edris Cooper-Anifowoshe directs.
