The sterling Australian conductor Simone Young, first woman to conduct the Vienna State Opera and Vienna Philharmonic, leads the orchestra in Rimsky-Korsakov’s whirling “Scheherazade” and brings on pianist Louis Lortie for Ravel’s “Pavane pour une infant défunte” and jazz-fueled Piano Concerto in G.
