Focusing on how media and the digital experience resonate in the Trump era, Dan Hoyle's solo show "Each and Every Thing" comes to The Marsh Berkeley for its East Bay premiere with newly-added post-election material. From a Digital Detox retreat in remote Northern California to the intellectual temple of Calcutta's famed coffeehouse, "Each and Every Thing" finds Hoyle in his search for true community and connection in a fractured world.
Writer/solo performer Dan Hoyle traces his own lengthy journey to craft a life of authentic communication and personal meaning in this play, which returns to The Marsh. Balancing narrative storytelling with re-enactments of scenes from that journey, he plays a variety of characters, including his own dad (comic performer Geoff Hoyle) and his best friend, a droll Indian grad student. Developed with Charlie Varon, who also directs it, and Maureen Towey.
