Angela Davis: OUTspoken

GLBT Historical Society

This exhibition draws on rare posters and ephemera from a private collection that highlights the journey of black lesbian activist Angela Davis: from radical scholar, to political prisoner, to revolutionary icon, to public intellectual.

This is what SF/Arts curator Christian L. Frock had to say about Angela Davis: OUTspoken :

This exhibition samples from an expansive collection of rare posters and ephemera focused on the groundbreaking politics of activist and radical thinker Angela Davis. From her 1970s work with the Black Panther Party to her present-day provocations challenging contemporary LGBTQ movements, Davis has remained a formidable leader across a spectrum of political impact.
