Art & Vinyl

Fraenkel Gallery

This exhibition examines the ways in which artists have been drawn to records and their covers as mediums for original works of art.

This is what SF/Arts curator Christian L. Frock had to say about Art & Vinyl :

Music folks take note: This show is focused on artworks created for albums, composers and musicians. It presents 100+ works, spans 60+ years, and features a very compelling roster of artists, including Jean-Michel Basquiat, Barbara Kruger and Chris Ofili, among many others; it begins with a Picasso painting of a white dove on Paul Robeson’s 1949 Songs of Peace album.
