This exhibition of art, film, performance, poetry, and archival materials is a sweeping exploration of the creative energies that have emerged from the San Francisco Bay Area over two hundred years. Featuring more than two hundred works by Bay Area artists and others whose work engages directly with the region's geographic and cultural landscape. The exhibition highlights artists--especially women and artists of color--whose contributions have been underrecognized.
Way Bay takes an experimental approach to exhibition making, drawing on myriad disciplines to bring together a transdisciplinary extravaganza for visual art, performance, poetry, historical objects and contemporary artworks that explores California’s near 200-year history. Featuring more than 200 works by Bay Area artists, including many legends and lesser-known geniuses.
