Benched Dog Show

Golden Gate Kennel Club

Benched dog shows are a rare breed, with only a few still existing in the United States. Anyone attending the show has the opportunity to meet and get to know the dogs on special "benches" organized by breed

This is what SF/Arts curator Laura Fraenza had to say about Benched Dog Show :

The Golden Gate Kennel Club’s annual show at the Cow Palace shares a rare distinction with the beloved and prestigious Westminster Dog Show. It’s one of the few dog shows in the country that are “benched”— the dogs remain on assigned benches throughout the show—which makes it more fun and educational, as attendees can actually meet the breeds, from Frenchies and German Shepherds to pugs and toy poodles, as well as the dogs’ owners and trainers.
