Genre-Nonconforming: The DIS Edutainment Network

M.H. de Young Museum

Presented by the New York-based collective DIS, this exhibit will reveal a "DIS-topian" take on the future of education--decentralized and open-access, yet communal and physically connected. The DIS Edutainment Network will be played on a continuous loop on 36 large LED screens in the de Young's atrium, Wilsey Court, inviting visitors to experience a twisted hybrid of entertainment and education.

This is what SF/Arts curator Christian L. Frock had to say about Genre-Nonconforming: The DIS Edutainment Network :

Created by the New York-based collective DIS, this large-scale multi-media installation of 36 LED screens in the de Young’s atrium considers a “DIS-topian” take on the future of education as a decentralized, open-access experience connected across networks. Featuring an international group of writers and artists, including informational shows and visual essays.
