Designed in California

San Francisco Museum of Modern Art

Exploring the shifting landscape of design in California since the digital revolution, this exhibition focuses on designs that are human-centered, socially conscious, and driven by new technological capacity.

This is what SF/Arts curator Christian L. Frock had to say about Designed in California :

California’s history of socially conscious design is mined in this expansive exhibition that considers the political, social and environmental influences that have shaped items from camping equipment to the ubiquitous devices that run our everyday lives. Featuring work by Ray and Charles Eames, AntFarm, Sha Design, D-Rev, fuseproject and NewDealDesign, among others.
