New Work: Kerry Tribe

San Francisco Museum of Modern Art

Kerry Tribe's video installation, commissioned by SFMOMA, explores questions of empathy, communication and performance, offering insight into the work of Standardized Patients--actors trained to portray patients as part of medical training.

This is what SF/Arts curator Christian L. Frock had to say about New Work: Kerry Tribe :

This new commission from Los Angeles-based artist and filmmaker Kerry Tribe considers the works of Standardized Patients, professional actors who participate in the simulated environments of medical student trainings. Created in collaboration with Standardized Patients from Stanford and USC, this two-channel video installation explores themes of embodied empathy as performance.
