Poetry in Parks 2017

Quiet Lightning

This show, an annual collaboration with California State Parks called Poetry in Parks, will be a free show, part of a day-long festival in the Candlestick Point State Recreation Area. The first 200 people will receive a book featuring all of the selected writing and cover art by a local artist! All authors will be paid and will read/perform as a literary mixtape, with no introductions or banter. Curated by Kelsey Schimmelman, Lisa Church, and Evan Karp

This is what SF/Arts curator Evan Karp had to say about Poetry in Parks 2017 :

For the third year, California State Parks teams up with Quiet Lightning for Poetry in Parks, a free, daylong, all-ages arts festival featuring QL’s signature submission-based literary mixtape and annual Neighborhood Heroes show, with live music, modern dance, interactive painting, kids’ activities, food vendors and adult beverages.
