Salman Rushdie

City Arts & Lectures

In Conversation with Michael Chabon. Salman Rushdie is the author of twelve novels including Midnight's Children (for which he won the Booker Prize and the Best of the Booker), Shame, The Satanic Verses, and Haroun and the Sea of Stories, along with one collection of short stories: East, West. His forthcoming novel, The Golden House, is a modern epic of love and terrorism, loss and reinvention--a powerful, timely story told with the daring and panache that has kept Salman Rushdie a literary and cultural force for decades.

This is what SF/Arts curator Evan Karp had to say about Salman Rushdie :

Salman Rushdie, the charmed storyteller and internationally renowned author of the two-time Best of The Bookers Prize-winning “Midnight’s Children” and “The Satanic Verses,” the latter of which provoked controversy, protests, bans and a fatwa ordering Rushdie’s execution, returns to City Arts & Lectures for a conversation with Michael Chabon (“Moonglow”) in support of his new novel “The Golden House.”
