Full-Spectrum Science with Ron Hipschman: Lasers. Learn what's special about laser light, how it's made, and how it's used in everything from DVD players to eye surgery to fusion energy research.

This is what SF/Arts curator Jack Hirsch had to say about Full Spectrum Science | Ron Hipschman :

Since H.G. Wells introduced heat rays in “The War of the Worlds” in 1898, lasers have mesmerized science fiction fans. Their modern uses extend far beyond weaponry, however, and now stretch from optic surgery to high-speed cameras to grocery checkout lines. Watch as Exploratorium scientist Ron Hipschman unpacks the physics behind lasers through colorful and entertaining demonstrations.
