Opening Exhibition

Museum of Capitalism/Oakland

The Museum of Capitalism opens its inaugural exhibition with a series of multimedia exhibits created by a diverse network of artists, scholars, and ordinary citizens, exploring the historical phenomenon of capitalism and its intersections with themes like race, class, and environment in the United States.

This is what SF/Arts curator Christian L. Frock had to say about Opening Exhibition :

The Museum of Capitalism couldn’t be timelier as the Bay Area’s newest museum, aimed at public education around the history, legacy and philosophy of an economic and political system based on private ownership. The show features art works by Center for Tactical Magic, Chip Lord, Dread Scott, Jenny Odell, Kate Haug and Temporary Services, among many others.
