In her words, her work "reveals the creative potential that lurks within the mundane."
Nina Katchadourian can make art work with anything, anywhere. Her work centers on the mundane, always with tongue-in-cheek humor aimed at the art establishment. Past pieces have been derived from spider webs and book spines. More recently in a series of selfies taken in air transit, she used paper napkins to recreate Old Master works.
