Abstracts From Life: Bay Area Figurative Past and Present. Presenting an exhibition of figurative and architectural artwork of the everyday. The exhibition includes selections from private collections, galleries, the Richard Diebenkorn Foundation, and the Oliveira Administrative Trust. Featured paintings, drawings and sculpture include works by: Michael Azgour, Joan Brown, Suhas Bhujbal, Linda Christensen, Richard Diebenkorn, Dennis Hare, Mitchell Johnson, Brigitte McReynolds, Nathan Oliveira, Joan Savo, Jennifer Pochinski, William Rushton, Terry St. John and James Weeks. Interactive activities that allow visitors to create their own figures will also be presented in the exhibition gallery.
This expansive exhibition centers on the great Bay Area tradition of figurative abstraction and features works by an incredible roster of artists, including Joan Brown, Richard Diebenkorn and Nathan Oliveira, as well as contemporary artists Suhas Bhujbal and Jennifer Pochinski, among many others. Also not to be missed at NUMU: “A Call to Collect,” an exploration of private collections.
