Rex Ray

Gallery 16

As the first presentation since the artist's untimely death in 2015, this retrospective offers a major exhibition of works spanning twenty years of Rex Ray's prolific career. Artwork never previously displayed--including large scale canvases, prints, and collages--as well as Rex's library style installation of paper collages, entitled Wall of Sound, will be on view at the gallery.

This is what SF/Arts curator Christian L. Frock had to say about Rex Ray :

Marking the first presentation of Ray’s work since his passing two years ago, Gallery 16 presents an extensive exhibition of artworks spanning 20 years from the beloved Bay Area artist, designer and all-around rock ’n’ roll legend Rex Ray. A special exhibition of works by Paul Klee and Rex Ray is organized simultaneously at SFMOMA.
