Beat Museum

Beat Museum

The Beat Museum is dedicated to spreading the spirit of The Beat Generation, which we define as tolerance, compassion and having the courage to live your individual truth. The Beat Museum is home to an extensive collection of Beat memorabilia, including original manuscripts and first editions, letters, personal effects and cultural ephemera.

This is what SF/Arts curator Christian L. Frock had to say about Beat Museum :

Located in the heart of North Beach, the Beat Museum is dedicated to “spreading the spirit of The Beat Generation”; it’s situated in the same neighborhood where the now-famous group of writers, artists and thinkers charted new territory in the 1950s. An extensive collection of archival materials—letters, personal effects, original manuscripts and first editions—are on display.
