Chinatown’s “living room” hosts the neighborhood’s newest festival, which spotlights the diversity of art, music and culture residing within its borders. Pianist Jon Jang’s world premiere to honor the Chinese Revolution’s centennial and Kearny’s Sidewalk Art exhibition are not to be missed.

Event Description The Chinese Culture Center of San Francisco in association with Asian Improv aRts, API Cultural Center, Chinese Historical Society of America Museum, Chinatown Community Development Center and Chinese Progressive Association present this annual music festival. The Festival features free performances by Jest Jammin’, Genryu Arts, Sherlin Chan & The Star Valley Children’s Choir, Latin Jazz Youth Ensemble of San Francisco led by John Calloway, Charlie Chin, San Francisco Guzheng Society and the world-premiere of “Portrait of Sun Yat-sen” by Jon Jang and Unbound Chinatown, celebrating the October 10 Centennial of the Chinese Revolution and the Chinese Republic’s first provisional president, Dr. Sun Yat-sen. This year’s Festival also presents the new visual arts exhibition Sidewalk Art along with hands-on arts activities and displays of Chinatown’s diverse and vibrant culture.
