Frank Lobdell: Wonderland
San Jose Museum of Art
Best known for his intense, brooding paintings, Lobdell, who early in his career was influenced by abstract expressionist Clyfford Still, has recently focused on vibrantly colorful fantasy images. His dreamy landscapes, full of longing and mysterious signs and symbols, are on view in this new show.
