Various Illuminations (of a Crazy World)

The Contemporary Jewish Museum

Maira Kalman, who arrived here from Tel Aviv at age 4, is best known for her New Yorker covers. Spanning 30 years and featuring over 100 works of art, this exhibition is hung as running narrative, deftly combining written text, drawings and Kalman’s keen sense of the absurd.
